Who We Are
Genoa Sailing has been created to provide you with a taste of sailing
and yachting on one of Britain’s most magical and breath taking
lakes here in the Lake District.
At over 10 miles long 1 mile wide at its widest point, Windermere is steeped
in history, from the only true round house in Britain on Belle Isle to
the manufacture of flying boats, Windermere has more than its fair share
of history and is the perfect place to enjoy sailing and yachting.
Whilst sailing on the Lake your skipper will be an encyclopedia of knowledge
to answer your questions and will tell you the most interesting and wonderful
facts and stories about the lake and the surrounding area and make sure
you have as much fun as possible.
What We Do
We pride ourselves in giving our fullest attention to every detail of your time with us.
After a safety briefing we will provide you with all the safety equipment you need and without wasting time will get you on the water and sailing as quickly as possible.
We are happy to cater for family sailing days, there is very little on a yacht that children and young people cannot do, groups and individuals are welcome and we also provide a number of different management training, team building and corporate days.
Our association with local purveyors of fine food ensures that your every need can be catered for to the highest standards on board and the proximity of numerous high quality hotels to the shore line provides the opportunity for many fine meals to be had within a stones throw of the lake.
We are very aware that some people going on the water for the first time can be anxious, we pride ourselves in being able to empathise with you and coach and encourage you through any anxieties you may have.
We provide all of the safety equipment you will need for your day and show you how to use it, but you will need to wear appropriate clothing for the ever changing Lake District weather, sun screen to water proofs may well be needed. We also ask that you wear trainers or soft soled shoes to protect our boats.
